10 Reasons why something so basic as Water is so GOOD for you

By Shannon Pierce

It is something so basic, yet for some people so complex. We just can’t get enough water down during the day, possibly because soda is the most popular beverage in the United States. Here are some reasons that the most basic thing in the world is so darn good for you. Some may even surprise you.

One study in London proved that when students brought water into their exam room with them, they also had better grades. The study suggests that drinking water promotes clearer thinking.

A large majority of the time that you are hungry, you actually just may be thirsty. Drinking water may help you lose a few pounds because it can help you feel fuller throughout the day. Craving a snack? Chug a water bottle first.

Have you ever seen those before and after photos where a woman started drinking a gallon of water per day? Her skin improved greatly! Water helps your skin because it flushes out toxins and reduces acne.

Your kidney health improves when you drink water.  Kidneys are in great need of enough water to help clear out waste and toxins that we don’t need in the body, so drink up!

It can help make you more alert, and feel more refreshed mentally.

When your muscles are deprived of water, they fatigue faster. Fuel your muscles with some H2O and finish that last mile.

Along with the hunger pangs, dehydration can also make you feel tired. Water helps you fight fatigue.

Water helps you keep things moving - in the bathroom. Dehydration leads to digestion issues.  Water it hydrates the colon, making things easier for you in the powder room.

One of the major reasons we feel symptoms of hangovers is actually due to dehydration. Don’t forget to sip a glass of agua between your cocktails to help prevent feeling yucky the following day.

Aching joints and muscle cramps are major symptoms of dehydration.  Prevent these terrible pains with water.

Momma always said to drink plenty of fluids when you are sick, and she was right! Whether it is congestion or a stomach virus, make sure to fuel your body with water so you can fight off that flu.

To make sure you are getting enough water to prevent all of these ugly symptoms of dehydration, tally the glasses of water you drink each day and bring a large water bottle with you everywhere you go.
