Apple Cider Vinegar has many health benefits you should be aware of

If you have heard of people taking a few swigs of apple cider vinegar lately, there may be some valid reasoning behind their madness. Apple cider vinegar, although a very ancient health remedy, is still being used today by people who want to improve their health, and even their homes. Here’s just a few of the many ways you could benefit from bringing it out of the pantry more often.

Everyone wants to hear about the weight loss benefits first.  It has been proven that vinegar can actually make people feel full, not to mention it’s only three calories per tablespoon.  In a double-blind Japanese experiment, it was concluded that consumption of vinegar may reduce obesity. It is recommended that the average person drinks about two tablespoons of vinegar diluted with water.

Second, while apple cider vinegar does not contain a whole lot of vitamins or minerals, it does contain some potassium, amino acids, and antioxidants.

Acetic acid is the main substance in vinegar, which can kill pathogens and prevent bacteria.  Vinegar has been used as an all-natural disinfectant. Go ahead and fill a spray bottle with vinegar, dilute it with water, and spray away! Using “ACV” instead of other powerful products, such as bleach, decreases the use of harmful chemicals in our homes and our lives.

As for your hair and skin, ACV can be used in many ways. For warts, soak a cotton ball with the vinegar and wrap a bandage around the cotton ball and the wart. Let it soak in over night, and voila! The skin may swell temporarily, but if you continue the treatment for a few more days, the wart will fall off. Keep repeating the procedure to ensure that it doesn’t return. The same procedure can be used for nail fungus or treating wounds.

For age spots, or to be used as a toner, also soak a cotton ball in a bit of vinegar and smooth over your face before moisturizing. For your hair, fill an old shampoo bottle with a few tablespoons of vinegar and water and pour over your hair a few times a week for optimal shine and bounce. The options are limitless!

And just to add a few more, brush your teeth directly with ACV, then rinse with water to remove stains. Add some to your bathtub to relieve a mean sunburn. Finally, it has also been used as a natural preservative for foods.
